About Bill Mundy
As the Director of B Mundy & Associates, Bill brings a unique blend of strategic insight, practical experience, and deep relationships across local, state, and federal stakeholders to support Australia’s clean energy transition.
Prior to founding B Mundy & Associates in 2024, Bill served as Associate Director, Partnerships & Growth at Federation University. In this role, he was instrumental in launching and developing the Asia Pacific Renewable Energy Training Centre (APRETC)—a first-of-its-kind initiative that addressed critical skills shortages in wind energy by offering apprenticeship-based training for blade and turbine technicians. His leadership secured over $10 million in Victorian Government funding and $2 million in industry support, in addition to ongoing partnerships for research and student scholarships.
Bill’s thought leadership in clean energy training and workforce solutions was further recognised through his International Specialised Skills Institute (ISSI) Fellowship. Travelling across Europe and North America, he investigated global best practices in wind technician training and qualifications, bringing home innovative insights that continue to shape Australia's approach to workforce readiness in renewables. His research findings directly inform his consultancy work, with a focus on aligning industry needs with training delivery models and advocating for integrated, future-proof qualifications.
With a commercial background that includes senior roles at Telstra in regional management and business development, Bill combines business acumen with a passion for regional community engagement and development. He has worked closely with developers, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), government agencies, First Nations communities, and training providers to deliver outcomes that are both economically and socially sustainable.
Bill is driven by a core belief: that successful energy projects are built on partnerships, local knowledge, and long-term legacy. His consultancy is guided by principles of good governance, transparency, inclusivity, and impact—ensuring that every engagement supports a just transition to net zero and delivers lasting value for all stakeholders.
